The first race of Dubai Autodrome’s National Race Day 2009/10 season saw LAP 57
driver Umair Khan dominate Class 2 of the UAE Touring Car Championship against a
15-strong grid.
Qualifying in pole position for the first race of the day Khan speeded to
victory against a line up of race veterans and rookies alike. As part of the LAP
57 Racing Team, Khan’s teammate Omran Al Owais suffered technical issues in Race
one but managed to make up points in the second race with a solid third place
podium finish.
Meanwhile Khan added to his race 1 victory with, emerging victorious again in
race 2. With another seven race days and fourteen races to go, the LAP 57 team
are confident that they can win the championship and mirror their victory from
the 2008 season.
The National Race Days are run by the Dubai Autodrome and consist of numerous
motorsports disciplines including motorbike, radical and GT championships adding
to the excitement of the UAE Touring Car Championship. The next race is
scheduled for November 12 – 14.
