Emirati driver Khaled Al Qubaisi to participate in this year’s championship
under the umbrella of Alex Renner Motors
Supporting six cars this year, Alex Renner Motors is set for a tour de force at
the 2009-2010 UAE National Racing Championship, which kicks off on October 16th
at the Dubai Autodrome.
Last season ARM, an all-round Porsche specialist that also offers a full race
support service, had notable success with its three entrants in the UAE Touring
Car Championship, in its debut motorsport season.
This time round, ARM will provide support for six Porsches in the GT
Championship. Making its competitive debut, Team Abu Dhabi Falcon Racing is
entering three cars driven by Saif Al Assam, Ibrahim Salloum and UAE national
Khaled Al Qubaisi. Experienced racing team, Khaleji Motorsport, will be running
two cars - one in the GTA class, where the team is aiming for a class win, and
another in the GTB class. Cabell Fisher, Tarek Elgammal, Jon Sinders and Paul
Denby will drive for Khaleji Motorsport. Meanwhile Harris Irfan will be
competing in his own 966 GT3 and looking to improve upon his impressive second
place position in last season’s championship.
All these competitors boast a distinct advantage thanks to ARM’s trackside and
workshop support. The German-owned Al Quoz company has many years’ experience in
servicing, tuning and customising Porsche cars. Because the 911 GT3, which is
built for motorsport and raced around the world, is a specialist car, each one
requires these highly honed skills to run successfully in a race series.
“Last year we ran three cars, this year we are running double that number, which
in itself is a success to me,” says Alex Renner. “Participating in this season’s
championship will enable us to build on last year’s success at a time when we
are seeing a growing interest in motorsport in the UAE.”
“During this year’s championship ARM will be providing each of its partners with
the mechanical support needed while on site, using the experience we gained from
last year’s campaign. We are greatly looking forward to another exciting racing
series,” concluded Renner.
