The FORMULA ONE SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX returns from 25-27 September this
year, when racing fans from around the world flock to Singapore to watch the
world’s best drivers go for glory along the floodlit public streets of
Singapore.
Race promoter Singapore GP has been hard at work to further improve the race,
which was described as “the Jewel in the FORMULA ONE crown” by Bernie Ecclestone,
Formula One Management President. Speaking at a special launch event in Dubai to
promote the 2009 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX, Mr Colin Syn, Deputy
Chairman Singapore GP said, “Last year’s pulsating race surpassed expectations
and we were delighted to receive numerous international awards, including the
Autosport Award for Pioneering and Innovation, as well as the FIA Promoter of
the Year Award.”
“This year, we have fine-tuned the Marina Bay street circuit to provide more
overtaking opportunities and provide race fans with even more excitement,” Syn
added.
To ensure racing fans have a memorable experience, Singapore GP has brought in
world-class international entertainers like the Backstreet Boys, Chaka Khan and
Youssor N’Dour to perform exclusively for race ticket holders, a unique feature
on the FORMULA ONE race calendar.
To complement the fiery track-side action, the Singapore GP Season returns from
18 to 27 September with raging parties, mouth-watering Asian cuisine, sizzling
fashion and red-hot shopping deals.
This year’s Singapore GP Season top-notch events are not to be missed,
especially with most of them just a stone’s throw from the race circuit. Some of
the events will also sport a new Asian touch that will help differentiate the
Singapore GP Season from other race seasons around the world.
Singapore GP Season 2009 lists an enviable line-up of events that will bolster
Singapore’s image as an exciting lifestyle destination and the Events and
Entertainment Capital of Asia. Some of these include new events such as Asia On
The Edge and Rev Up on Orchard, and returning events such as Amber Lounge
Singapore.
