Hot on the heels of Honda’s compact CR-V, the company has announced the
arrival of the freshened-up 2010 model, which gets an interior and exterior
facelift.
Changes include:
- Sophisticated new exterior styling, which include new front and rear bumpers,
grille and wheels.
- Detailed interior finish and additional equipment.
- Suspension combined with improved NVH performance.
Exterior Styling
Building on the sophisticated exterior of the current car, the 2010 CR-V
comes with a refined styling which includes a new grille, new front and rear
bumpers, chrome tipped exhaust pipe finisher and new 10-spoke 17” alloy wheels.
The front fascia’s upper grille has a single horizontal chrome-style trim cross
bar as opposed to the double slat style cross bar from previous design. The
hood’s sheet metal now flows flush into the upper portion of the grille instead
of wrapping down and around the grille.
The lower portion of the grille receives a honeycomb design that replaces the
previous three-bar horizontal cross design. A chrome-colored trim piece has been
added at the junction where the lower grille section intersects the top of the
bumper.
Re-sculpted front bumper painted surface area, extends lower on the vehicle,
instead of within the lower black body cladding. Correspondingly, the re-shaped
rear bumper painted surface area now encompasses the red rear reflectors, also
previously located within the black cladding.
Interior Changes
The 2010 CR-V features a host of changes to further enhance the current
model’s attractive and practical interior. All the interior trim panels receive
a new surface effect and revised color, which are combined with improved seat
fabric, floor carpets and door grips to enhance the ambience of CR-V’s
comfortable interior.
For comfort, the driver’s and front passenger’s center folding armrests are
wider (+30mm) and longer (+20mm) to the previous model.
Auto dimming rear view mirror on RVSi improves driving comfort by eradicating
distraction due to light flashing from behind. A new double-deck cargo
compartment on the new CR-V improves storage utility and versatility.
The new CR-V will receive a USB Audio Interface for direct access to music files
on compatible devices using the vehicle’s existing controls.
Detailed work has been done to further refine the CR-V’s already impressive NHV
performance, enhancing the relaxed car-like driving experience. Additional sound
dampening and new seals are among the detailed changes made to achieve a quieter
cabin.
Suspension Improvements
Some revisions to the geometry and dampers have been made on the new CR-V.
The end result is improved ride comfort, without compromising the agile handling
and excellent road holding of the existing model.
The new CR-V will be available in 8 exterior colors including two new colors,
Premium Mystic Night Pearl and Opal Sage Metallic.
